As you may know, we currently have six Regional Groups, but quite a lot of our members are too far away from these groups to attend their meetings.

Midland Group

The programme for the Trent Valley Group is as follows;-

March 10th ;- Practical.

April 14th ;- Photography - Harry Hartshorne.

May 12th ;-Visit to Owl, Hawk & Falcon sanctuary at Laxton, Notts.

June 9th ;- Stickmaking - John McConnell.

July14th ;- Practical.

August 11th ;- Practical.

September 8th ;-Practical (pre - Bakewell)!!

October 20th ;- Slideshow - Peter Williams.

November 10th ;- Practical.

December 8th ;- Christmas Buffet & Annual Competition.

We also have 2 outings where the group will be demonstrating ;-

22/06/08 ;- Derby County Show @ Elvaston Castle, Derbyshire.

01/10/08 ;- Brailsford & District Ploughing Match @ Champion Farm,
Quarndon, Derbyshire.

Our group of approx 18-20 members meet every 2nd Monday of the month
at Shardlow Village Hall(near East Midlands Airport, junction M1) from 7.15 - 9.15.

APRIL 13TH - Painting and completion of Great Spotted Woodpecker. Also discuss the commencement of carving a Black Guillemot for the Group Competition.

MAY 11TH - Commence carving the Black Guillemot

JULY 13TH - Continue preparation of Black Guillemot

JULY 27TH - Open Day at Risley Moss Reserve when we are invited to have a stand for promotion and display purposes.

AUGUST 10TH - Completion of Black Guillemot for entry into National Group Competition.

SEPT 13TH/14TH - Annual Show and Competition at Bakewell, Derbyshire

SEPT 28TH - Cheshire Group Competition including an exhibition and demonstrations. Held at Risley Moss Reserve and open to the general public.

OCTOBER 12TH - Making appropriate habitat

NOVEMBER 9TH - Carving a bird's head

DECEMBER (Date to be announced) Christmas Dinner at a local venue. Invite partners and bring along carving of bird's head.

Meetings will be held every two months, on a Sunday at Risley Moss, near Warrington.

The meetings will start at 10.30 pm and finish at approx 2.30pm.
